How Much Does Sears Charge To Install Battery

Does sears do gratuitous battery installation if you buy from them?

I am planning to become battery replaced, if I practice it at sears do they do free installation? Any bombardment brands you lot guys would recommend for my 98 Mercedes SLK230?

Yep ... pretty much anyone does that
sells batteries and also installs tires or does oil changes

Putting a new battery in is about the easiest thing you lot can do under the hood.

Yup. Only thing I tin think of that might exist easier is the air filter.

Oh, don't forget to buy some steel wool to clean off the battery posts earlier you install. Connect positive pole outset (that'south the blood-red one, with the + sign). That's all I tin can recollect of. Anyone else?

Yea, I replaced my HU w/ aftermarket, BTW, I just called Sears and they want to charge $12.99 to install it!!!

Normally - Yes. Manifestly you lot have non replaced ane in a Chrysler "cloud car" yet (Cirrus, Stratus, or Cakewalk). The bombardment in these cars is located downwards in the driver's side wheel well (you have to remove the left front tire). Not really hard, but a hurting in the butt (specially in the cold season if you don't own a garage!)

Yeah, don't bother, if you tin can install a hard drive in a PC, you should be able to install a battery in a car.

Unremarkably - Yes. Apparently y'all accept non replaced one in a Chrysler "deject motorcar" yet (Cirrus, Stratus, or Breeze). The battery in these cars is located down in the driver'southward side bike well (you accept to remove the left front tire). Yeah, I've got one of those, and I don't await forward to the day when I take to muck with the battery.

Heh, my battery is in my torso, just move a piece of the body liner, and its exposed. Very easy to get to. Too bad its a special bombardment (it has slightly different dimensions compared to a regular one), and I don't think they're available at but Any autostore. I know I tin order it online, as well as option one up at a Mazda Dealership, not sure about anywhere else.

Very easy to do yourself, only minor handtools are needed to remove any bracing/support (if any) that holds the battery in. Disconnect the old one, ruby-red/positive starting time, then remove the blackness/footing. And then plug in the red/positive first, and so the black/ground wire. Make sure the blackness/ground isn't touching any metal whenever you disconnect/reconnect the crimson wire. Put the bracing/support dorsum on, and you're adept to get.

I bought a battery from Sears a few months ago. They charge $15 to install.
(I installed it myself, seeing as the vehicle was at home with a totally expressionless battery).
I think you'll really detect that most places practice charge for installation. If they tell you it'due south free, they most liekley jacked the price up.

I think Wal-Mart installs them for free...

I know they install air filters and windsheild wipers free with purchase.
